How to easily create freebies to attract email subscribersFIRST WHY IS AN EMAIL LIST SO IMPORTANT FOR YOUR WEBSITE?

Having an email list for your website is essential because the people who subscribe are the people who are interested in what you have to offer and have given you their email address allowing you to contact them on a regular basis.

These people are attracted to you for some reason.  They like the way you write, the value you offer to them, the content you’ve given them has resonated with them and that’s not always easy to do.

If you’re looking for ways to gain traffic and grow your email list check out this blog post!

So this is why you want to treat each person on your email list like they’re your best friend and they’re super special to you so that you keep them on your email list for a long, long time!

Now you can definitely connect with people on social media but you don’t have any control over it so it can change or completely disappear at any point in time severing that relationship in an instant.  Now will this really happen?  I doubt it but anything is possible, right?  So this is why an email list is extremely important and giving people a reason to sign up for your email list by offering them a freebie.

AKA: an email opt in or a content upgrade.  It is something that is given in exchange for an email address and is a piece of valuable content for the reader.  Again, I stress, this freebie has to provide the reader with value.

The possibilities are endless when deciding on what type of freebie to create to compliment your blog posts.

Look at your most popular blog posts.  The ones the have the most comments or repins on Pinterest and start with them.  I’m writing this assuming that you already have a blog but if you don’t then use blog posts that you want to create when you first publish your blog!

What are you trying to convey to your reader?  There should be some type of value in the blog post that your reader is going to take away once they’re done reading.

This is the content that you’re going to use to create your freebie.  So, if you are giving them a list of steps, then create a checklist.

There is always something you can create, you just have to think outside the box!

In various Facebook Groups, I constantly see people who are racking their brains trying to decide what types of freebies to create and I think it’s because they’re trying to come up with an idea that’s going to attract everyone to their blog or be absolutely perfect and make it this long, intense and phenomenal freebie.

Let me just say this, people like simple!  Something easy to complete, simple to understand that is going to solve a problem they are having.  This is exactly what you want to create.

You don’t want to give away a freebie that is a 30 page e-book or workbook that’s your greatest and most amazing work because that is something that should be paid content, don’t you agree?

When you’re ready to create your freebie, you don’t have to use software that costs tons of money.  They can all be made for free, yes free! (I’m all about free and bargains, in case you didn’t know!)

I use one of two programs for all of my freebies:

  • Google Docs
  • Canva

They are both easy to use and create pretty amazing freebies.  If you have a MAC computer, I hear PAGES is really great and free!
